Meet Kifaru. “Kifaru” means rhino in Swahili. He was handmade in Kenya from thongs (also known as flip flops) that are thrown away, end up in the ocean and wash up on the beach. These thongs are a big pollution problem for birds and other animals who mistake them for food.

Made by Ocean Sole, these sculptures are providing employment for local people, keeping the beaches and waterways clean and contributing to ocean conservation.

Please note that because this is a recycled product colours will vary.
